Oral Health and Heart Disease: The Hidden Connection

Research shows a strong link between oral health—especially gum disease—and heart disease. Inflammation and harmful bacteria from infected gums can enter the bloodstream, potentially contributing to plaque buildup in arteries and increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. While brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits can’t eliminate all heart risks, maintaining good oral hygiene is an important part of supporting cardiovascular health
